About us

MamaShakti Prenatal Yoga is the Bay Area's premier site for prenatal yoga teacher training and educational programming. Our mission is to serve the prenatal community through the contribution of yoga classes and workshops tailored to meet the ever changing needs of our pregnant students during pregnancy, birth and postpartum recovery. We aim to create a safe, empowering and loving space where you will feel nurtured while growing into your new role as a mother and parent.

Currently, we offer our Yoga Alliance registered prenatal teacher training at our home studio, The Bella Prana Wellness Collective, in Tampa Florida.

The  2022 prenatal yoga teacher training, "Prenatal Yoga and Beyond" will offer scholarships for BIPOC members of our community. For more information on these scholarships, please submit a contact form today.

Additionally, we offer one-on-one private sessions in pre/postnatal yoga and corrective exercise, birth prep education and postpartum support.

We wish to honor and embrace this ancient practice of Yoga by paying homage to the Southeast Asian heritage from which it came. In Hinduism, Shakti, is the primordial cosmic energy and translates to ability, strength, power and capability. We help you harness your inner strength during pregnancy and new parenthood.

Jessica Freedman, Founder of MamaShakti Prenatal Yoga

My name is Jessica Freedman, BS, E-RPYT, PCES

I began Mama Shakti Yoga in 2019 as a response to the growing need in our community for a holistic approach to prenatal and postnatal care. I am nationally certified in pregnancy and postpartum corrective exercise and prenatal yoga.
I did my graduate studies in Traditional Chinese Medicine with a focus on Women's Health and Fertility. I have had the immense  honor of studying with holistic health providers from all over the world. In 2022, I will be adding Birth Doula to my credentials and continuing my birth education to better support my clients.

It has ben my pleasure to guide over a thousand pregnant women through yoga, exercise and birth education over the last 16 years.

At MamaShakti, our team has the pleasure of watching many of these women become mothers and blossom into the role so beautifully. We have a combined total of over 60 years of teaching experience from various holistic backgrounds.

We weave this wisdom into our offerings in order to guide you through your pregnancy, birth and your postpartum journey

Guest Presenters

In order to make our training a truly objective and well-rounded experience, we hire experts in their respective fields to speak to our students. We have birth doulas, an OB/GYN, a trauma informed educator, a yoga business owner, a registered nurse, and a sound healer. Each year the program presenters may change a bit, however, our goal is to provide our students with a varied and informed learning experience.
